Client feedback

It’s a pleasure working with key members of the HR Trustees team: their experience and leadership means that they know how to get the job done, working in partnership with fellow trustees, employers and advisers to achieve the best result for members.
Mark Smith,
Partner at Taylor Wessing
I enjoy working with PSIT and we have a very positive relationship. I was new to pensions and found them very helpful.
Bruce Allison,
RTUK
In my experience, not all professional trustees are able to cope with tricky or potentially confrontational situations. I find HR Trustees has massive experience in getting involved, earning the respect of others and resolving such issues. They get stuck in – they are a first rate team.
Katherine Dandy,
Partner at Sackers & Partners
Very professional and engaged service.
Danny Nussbaum,
HR Director, Volvo
We are extremely pleased with the appointment we made. The way Ian and Kerry react to us and work with us is brilliant. We are very happy.
Katherine Breading,
Tyser
Ever increasing regulation has placed a heavy burden on trustees both in terms of time and the risk of non-compliance. HR Trustees has the experience and the resources to help trustees manage these burdens.

Role

Simon is a Client Director at PS Independent Trustees (PSIT). He acts as professional pension trustee for clients, with a mix of ongoing and Pension Protection Fund related work.

Background & experience

Simon started in the investment team of Hadrian Trustees Ltd, the corporate trustee to the Shipbuilding Industries Ltd Pension Scheme. He then worked for CE Heath Ltd before joining HR Trustees Ltd to concentrate on acting as a professional trustee.

At HR Trustees, Simon acted as trustee, secretary to the trustees and consultant for a wide variety of defined benefit (DB) and defined contribution (DC) schemes. This led him to senior roles with Open Trustees Ltd and Pitmans Trustees Ltd, where he was instrumental in helping PTL attain AAF/01 accreditation.

Simon is a DC specialist and is a trustee and chair for several DC master trusts and two small DC schemes. He also sits on two Governance Advisory Arrangements (GAAs) for contract based DC schemes.

Simon definitely likes to keep running. He is Chairman of Reading Joggers and has completed 2 marathons and hundreds of half-marathons, 10ks, 5ks, 10 mile races and Parkruns. He has also run on the iconic track at the Olympic Stadium (before it was dug up!).

Areas of specialism

  • data protection & cyber security
  • value for money
  • master trusts
  • scheme governance
  • workplace & trust based DC
