Client feedback

It’s a pleasure working with key members of the HR Trustees team: their experience and leadership means that they know how to get the job done, working in partnership with fellow trustees, employers and advisers to achieve the best result for members.

I found the trustee training really beneficial, highly recommended. I am not a trustee, I represent the employer and I think it will be valuable for me in future, having a better understanding of the trustees' perspective.

In my experience, not all professional trustees are able to cope with tricky or potentially confrontational situations. I find HR Trustees has massive experience in getting involved, earning the respect of others and resolving such issues. They get stuck in – they are a first rate team.
Katherine Dandy,
Partner at Sackers & Partners
When requesting information by email, I have noticed that there is 'out of hours activity' to answer me. I regard this as a stand out 'above and beyond' - impressed.
Where HR Trustees are appointed to act in conjunction with an existing body of trustees, we have found that they are quickly able to fit in well and gain the trust and respect of their co-trustees.

Role

James is an Assistant Scheme Manager within PS Independent Trustees (PSIT). He supports our Scheme Managers and Client Directors on a variety of scheme secretarial and independent trustee appointments.

Background & experience

After a successful actuarial internship at Punter Southall Limited, James joined their actuarial consultancy team. He passed several actuarial exams and completed the Pensions Regulator’s Trustee Toolkit.

James has particular experience in scheme funding, actuarial factor reviews and setting transfer value bases. He is involved in member communications, providing pension scheme investment advice and delivering trustee secretary services to clients.

In 2011, James was seconded to the Pension Protection Fund (PPF) where he was involved in completing the yearly actuarial valuation for the organisation. He is also experienced in Financial Assistance Scheme (FAS) cases.

James likes to keep active - he was voted Players’ Player of the Season for his football team and has achieved the Sports Diver Scuba Diving qualification. If that isn’t enough, he has climbed Mount Snowdon and is on track to visit all seven continents (two to go!).
