PSIT recently ran a survey about pension scheme data cleansing projects with the aim of clarifying: how much data cleansing exercises actually cost, how long they take and what value they really add.

A copy of the full results of the survey can be downloaded below, but some of the highlights are:

almost 87% of respondents had completed a data cleansing project within the last three years
data quality issues were found in 89% of cases
whilst the majority of data cleansing projects cost less than £5,000, fees in excess of £40,000 were charged in 10% of cases
almost 40% took (or are expected to take) over 12 months to complete
